Can You Dig?

Can You Dig? Is an experimental shoot that took place in the Mojave desert near Calico’s ghost town off of Interstate 15. It was shot as a test for the still unproduced film “West of Nowhere”. According to the screenplay this would have been the first three pages.

Synopsis: Digging a hole, in the middle of the desert, for no apparent reason, can drive one insane. Matias Masucci Digging, Shot & Directed by Kevin Dorian and bizarrely edited by Matias Masucci.

How To Make An Acting Demo Reel

This is a satire on the making of an actor’s demo reel.

As it is often the case, not very many people thought it was funny. When I came up with the idea I thought it was hilarious and the most amazing thing ever. I was mistaken but it was fun to make.

Thanks to Ugo Bianchi, Kevin Dorian and Sebastien Hameliene who helped with the making.

Note: A demo reel is what actors use to showcase their work.

happiending wins Jury Award at DIFF

On March 9th 2009 “happiending” was awarded the Jury Commendation for Live Action Short Film at the 2009 Durango Independent Film Festival (DIFF).

This was happiending’s first festival appearance and I am extremely happy to know the film was noted among an exciting and high quality program, showcasing films from around the world. The film was met with an extremely positive reaction by the audience and screened to a full house on both occasions.

We would all like to thank the festival and the city of Durango for this distinguished honor.

“…I promise to keep my work real and personal and to do my best to live up to the acknowledgement I have received here tonight.” These were my words when I accepted the award.

CELTX- FILM PRODUCTION SOFTWARE (FREE DOWNLOAD)

Entertainment Partners (Movie Magic’s EP Scheduling), Gorilla Film Productions Software, No Budget Filmmaking Ultrapack, Showbiz Budgeting and Final Draft are all by their own merits reliable preproduction, production and post production software that will assist you in the organizational process of filmmaking at any budget. Some are easier than others to learn but all the above mentioned software cost money.

At the time of this writing, Celtx is a free complete film production software.

As it is common by each manufacturer’s own approach to the film production workflow some of the features you will find on other software may not be found on Celtx and vice versa. But of course Celtx is a free shareware.
